Mateo Carratú

Director

Mateo Carratú is a Uruguayan film director and filmmaker based in Barcelona. He grew up on film sets alongside his producer father, an experience that sparked his early connection with the image and later led him to study Audiovisual Communication in Barcelona.

Before beginning his path as a director, he worked across multiple on-set departments (camera, production, and direction) developing a technical, sensitive, and detail-oriented perspective.

His work includes the short films El Azul Silencio and La Dama del Diablo, the music video Wu Wey, the fashion film L’aflor for Lola Casademunt, and his upcoming project Aftershave. His style blends poetic aesthetics with introspective narratives and atmospheres of strong sensory impact.

His work has begun to receive international recognition, including the Best Film award at festivals in New York and India, establishing him as an emerging voice in contemporary independent cinema.
